Description
Guideline Stoked sets a whole new quality standard for fly rods in this price segment. The rods are made with new production technology, which, in addition to resulting in outstanding fly rods, takes great environmental considerations into account in the selection of components as well as in the production process.
Stoked has the latest in material and production technology. It has made it possible to offer fly rods of a quality and performance previously unseen in this price segment! When the development phase was over, they were so impressed that they simply chose to call them what they felt - Stoked. An added plus is that the Stoked range also features many of the more eco-friendly components found in the Elevation range.
Compared to Elevation, Stoked has a slightly lower graphite modulus - 24T / 30T / 36T vs 36T / 40T. In practice, this means Stoked is easier to throw and more forgiving of throwing errors. Yet they are light and responsive rods with an action and feel associated with much more expensive fly rods. The action is medium fast with a sensitive and stable top. The bend curve is progressive which gives you good contact with the entire blade on all types of throws.
Stoked 8'6 #4, 9' #5 & 9' #6: Line Weight #4 and #5 are typical all-around rods for trout fishing with nymphs, dry flies and lighter streamers. Stoked in #6 is the perfect choice for bigger flies, bigger fish and maybe lighter inshore fishing where you are more exposed to the elements.
Stoked 9' #7-8-9: Typical rods for heavier fishing for big trout, pike, sea trout and salmon. These models are suitable for larger flowing water, lakes, coastal and tropical fishing where large fish and demanding conditions are common.
Stoked 9'6 #6-7-8: This length is a good compromise when looking for a lake, river and inshore rod. The slightly longer length gives you better reach when wading deep or sitting in a float ring.
Stoked 10' #6-7: This is the most popular length for classic sea fishing from a boat and the best choice for fast water fishing for sea trout and salmon.
